Where I work, from the browser down to the PLC Web & API DevOps Industrial OT

Two profiles, one engineer

I work on two fronts that rarely meet. On the software side, I design and build platforms end to end: React front ends, .NET and Node.js APIs, authentication, and the Kubernetes infrastructure they run on. On the industrial side, I know oil & gas sites from the field instruments up to the historian: PLC/SCADA, industrial protocols and OT cybersecurity (IEC 62443). Knowing both lets me build the bridge myself. I work as an independent freelancer with operators, integrators and software teams.

FleetElem, GPS fleet management

Fleet tracking SaaS: a customised Traccar server with missions and drivers, a React web app with real-time maps, geofences and reports, an admin panel, and an Android app for the field.

Port operations platform

Business applications for a port authority: reference data, berth assignment, bay plans and cargo handling, built as .NET microservices with React front ends sharing one component library, and synchronised with the port's call system.

Central authentication server

Single sign-on for all the port applications: signed JWT tokens with keys published over JWKS, users from an LDAP directory, and role-based permissions enforced in every service.

DevOps

GitOps delivery for the port platform

Split a monorepo into independent services with one shared CI pipeline, a Helm chart per service and Argo CD on k3s. Staging and production are promoted by tag, and the same charts install on the client's own servers.

Multi-tenant Kubernetes for FleetElem

Production cluster driven by Flux CD: one isolated instance per client with its own database, domain and GPS port, secrets encrypted with SOPS, automatic certificates, and Telegram alerts.

Industrial OT

Refinery SCADA modernization

Migrated a legacy SCADA system to a redundant, secure architecture with OPC UA connectivity, historian integration and real-time dashboards for operations.

Minimal OPC UA server on the OPC Foundation .NET stack. Exposes Double/Int/Boolean variables updated live, a clean reference for StandardServer + CustomNodeManager2.

OPC UA client with node-opcua: connects, browses the address space to JSON, then subscribes and streams live value changes. Subscription targets are discovered from the browse.
